FC Liria Punished With Two Matches Behind Closed Doors and €2000 Fine
The Disciplinary and Ethics Commission has issued sanctions against FC Liria following incidents that occurred during the match between Liria and Vushtrria.
According to the official report, the start of the match was delayed by 2–3 minutes after home supporters lit flares in the stadium stands, creating heavy smoke that prevented the match from starting on time.
In the 75th minute, home fans threw flares onto the pitch, forcing the referee to temporarily stop the match until the situation was cleared. Later, in the 80th and 84th minutes, supporters again lit flares and threw stones and other objects toward the field.
In the 89th minute, the second assistant referee was struck on the head with a stick thrown by a home supporter from the stands. The stick had previously been handed to a match steward from the athletics track area. Due to this incident, the match was interrupted for several minutes.
Furthermore, in the 94th minute, several bottles filled with water, along with stones and other objects, were thrown onto the pitch from the home stands.
Based on the report of the match delegate and the television broadcast of the match between Liria and Vushtrria, and in accordance with Article 18 paragraph 1 and Article 36 paragraph 1 point A of the Disciplinary Regulations, FC Liria has been punished with two league matches to be played without spectators.
Additionally, based on Article 6 paragraph 1 point C and Article 18 paragraph 2 points B and C of the Disciplinary Regulations, the club has been fined €2000. The payment deadline is 15 days from the moment the decision becomes final.
