FC 2 Korriku Withdraws from Women’s Competitions for the 2026/27 Season

Following a series of meetings held by the club’s management, FC 2 Korriku officially announces its decision to withdraw from the competitions organized by the Football Federation of Kosovo in women’s football, with both the Senior and Under-17 teams.

Despite every effort made over the past several months, the club has been unable to establish the financial stability required to meet expectations and prepare adequately for competition at the highest level of women’s football. As a result, the club’s leadership has decided to step away from the 2026/27 competitions in order to allow time for organizational restructuring and to rebuild the necessary foundations for a successful return to elite-level football.

Regarding the women’s teams, FC 2 Korriku also confirms the end of its cooperation with the club’s Women’s Teams Manager, Mr. Sedat Limani.

Mr. Limani, who played a key role in establishing and developing the club’s women’s teams, has made an outstanding contribution to their organization and development over the years. His passion, dedication and commitment to providing the highest possible standards and opportunities for FC 2 Korriku’s female players have been instrumental in achieving several important milestones.

Among them are the Kosovo Under-17 championship title in the 2024/25 season, the First League championship title with the Senior team in the 2025/26 season, promotion to the Kosovo Women’s Super League for the 2026/27 season, as well as numerous call-ups of FC 2 Korriku players to the national teams of Kosovo and Albania over the years.

FC 2 Korriku emphasizes that this withdrawal from competitions during the current season does not mean the end of the club’s activities in women’s football. On the contrary, the club remains fully committed to the development of the women’s game and will use this period to reorganize, strengthen its structures and create the conditions necessary for a strong return to competitive football.

With renewed motivation and full commitment, FC 2 Korriku will do everything within its power to return to the competitive stage and continue contributing to the growth, development and wider promotion of women’s football in Kosovo.
